Erie is the firm’s practice leader in the Alternative Dispute Resolution practice and provides counsel on a range of complex dispute cases, including in the fields of construction, shipping, insurance and reinsurance, restructuring and insolvency, banking and finance, and general commercial and corporate transactions.
Erie specialises in both domestic and international arbitration, with a focus on construction, energy and natural resources, telecommunications, shipping, and complex commercial transactions. He has a proven track record of success in representing clients in litigation, handling a wide range of corporate-related matters, such as contractual disputes, insurance and banking claims, and shareholder disputes.
Erie also has extensive experience in restructuring and insolvency, having advised and represented multinational lenders in complex and high-value restructuring cases against Indonesian debtors. He also has extensive experience in the handling of shipping disputes and has acted for ship owners, charterers, cargo interests, and their insurers in disputes arising from charter parties, collisions, and other maritime-related matters.
In construction, Erie has extensive experience in resolving complex construction disputes, including those related to toll roads, clean utilities, and solution preparation facilities, as well as warehouses.
Work Highlights
- Represented a pharmaceutical company in arbitration involving claims and counter claims in relation to disputes over the construction of clean utilities and solution preparation facilities.
- Represented a ship owner in a court involving claims over USD26 million in relation to a collision.
- Represented and advised a warehouse management company in various disputes arising from the contractor’s failure to complete the construction work.
