Cristina Martinetti is a founding partner of Elexi Law Firm and a highly respected practitioner with more than 30 years of experience in arbitration, international commercial contracts and cross-border M&A.
Specialised in Transnational Trade Law (University of Turin), she advises both Italian and foreign companies on complex contractual matters, including corporate transactions, joint ventures, international construction projects, sales, distribution, and franchising. She is frequently instructed by international colleagues to support clients doing business in Italy or to act as counsel in domestic and international disputes, whether before state courts or arbitral tribunals.
Cristina has extensive experience in arbitration, serving both as counsel and arbitrator in high-value commercial and corporate disputes. Over the course of her career, she has been appointed by leading institutions and peers in matters involving shareholders’ disputes, directors’ liability, and construction-related controversies. Her deep expertise in arbitral proceedings is complemented by significant experience in corporate advisory work, including extraordinary transactions and complex governance matters.
A recognized thought leader in international trade and dispute resolution, Cristina is a member of the Council of the ICC Institute in Paris and previously served as President of the ICC Task Force on International Contracts. She is completing her second term at the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and also serves as Coordinator of the ICC Italia Commission of Arbitration and ADR. Cristina sits on the boards of the Piedmont Chamber of Arbitration, the Italian Association for Arbitration (AIA), and the Advisory Board of ArbIt (Italian Forum for Arbitration and ADR), and she is Vice-President of the National Arbitration Court of the UNCC. She has also served as Delegate of the Turin Chamber of Commerce to the ICC National Committee and is a former Chair of both the IBA International Sales Committee and the IBA Committee on International Commerce, Trade, Franchising and Product Law.
A regular lecturer on arbitration, CISG, and corporate law, Cristina is widely regarded as one of Italy’s leading authorities on international contracts and dispute resolution.
