Gustavo Parodi is one of the most experienced international arbitration practitioners in Argentina, having been selected as one of the leading arbitration lawyers several times.

After twenty years representing and providing legal advice as leading counsel to multinational corporations as well as foreign and domestic law firms in a broad range of business submitted to commercial and investment arbitration (including leading arbitration cases on corporate, construction and energy disputes), in 2016 Gustavo decided to focus on his work as arbitrator exclusively.

As international independent arbitrator, he has conducted proceedings as president of arbitral tribunals, co-arbitrator, sole arbitrator, and emergency arbitrator in international arbitrations administered by the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and The Permanent Court of Arbitration at the Hague (PCA) as well as before other arbitration centres and in ad hoc UNCITRAL arbitrations.

Gustavo has conducted arbitration cases governed by different laws (Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, Venezuela, New York, Florida, U.S.) with dissimilar arbitration seats (Buenos Aires, Montevideo, La Paz, Quito, New York, Miami, Madrid), in Spanish and English.

He has taken advantage of his longstanding experience within the dispute resolution field and acted at the forefront of relevant shareholders disputes and complex Oil & Gas cases involving substantial amounts.

Gustavo graduated as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School (Cambridge, U.S.) in 2000, having received various recognitions and distinctions, including Fulbright Scholarship, Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales (YPF) Foundation Scholarship, Organization of American States (OAS) Scholarship, and Harvard Law School Gammon Fellowship.

He previously studied at the School of Law at Cordoba University (Cordoba, Argentina), one of the oldest universities in America and one of the most prestigious in Argentina, and graduated as Juris Doctor summa cum laude with the highest possible G.P.A.: 10.00 (scale 10/10).

Gustavo also received several honors and awards, including the Federal Supreme Court of Justice Award, Argentine Academy of Law and Social Sciences Award, University Honors Award (Gold Medal Prize granted by the University of Cordoba, first class honors), Henoch Aguiar Award (Memorial Prize for the highest average in Civil Law), Mauricio Yadarola Award (Memorial Prize for the highest average in Business Law), Law School Nomination as one of “The Ten Outstanding Youths of the Year” (granted by Cordoba’s Stock Exchange) and Outstanding Graduate Award (granted by the Law School, first class honors).

He has published articles regarding international arbitration matters and participated as panelist in numerous conferences as well as seminars on cross-border disputes. Gustavo is a member of the ICC Latin American Arbitration Group, the International Bar Association and the Argentine Harvard Club as well as a founding member of the Latin American International Arbitration and the Rio de la Plata Chapter of the Spanish Club of Arbitration.
