She also advises private companies and governments on public international law, treaty interpretation, and disputes arising under multilateral agreements. Among her most significant current matters, she represents the Government of Ukraine in proceedings before the International Court of Justice against the Russian Federation, including Allegations of Genocide under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (Ukraine v. Russian Federation).

Drawing on her previous government experience as Associate General Counsel in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Marney also advises clients on international trade matters. She is a member of the roster of arbitrators for several U.S. free trade agreements and has previously taught investment law at Columbia University School of Law.
